CoreVore
Attention, this is an early DEMO
CoreVore — a voxel mining roguelite where you are the disaster.
Land on a planet. Dig into it for valuable ore. But every strike you land weakens the world — the deeper and greedier you dig, the harder it cracks, caves in, and floods. At some point you have to grab your haul and run. It's Minecraft where the ground fights back, with a catastrophe timer that only you can start.
The whole game is an argument with yourself, like walking out of a casino: "one more dig… or do I cash out and run?"
⛏️ Dig greedy, or dig smart
One handheld Multi-Tool, four modes:
- Laser — the only mode that actually drops loot. Precise, and deliberately slow.
- Volume Laser — chews a wide shaft fast, but destroys ore instead of collecting it, and shakes the planet.
- Charge — a thrown explosive. A key, not a shovel: breach walls, drop ceilings. Blow up a vein and the ore is gone.
- Thermal — freeze incoming water into ice, cool lava into stone, or melt ice back open.
Hit rock that's too hard and you'll see a red lock — not enough power yet. That's the "I want an upgrade" moment. Damage is permanent: cracks build up and never heal.
🌋 The planet fights back
This is where the real game is. The planet is an opponent made of physics, not scripts:
- Collapses — pull a support and the ceiling comes down, sometimes on you.
- Water & lava — breach a pocket and it pours. Deep down waits a whole lava sea, sitting right on top of the richest ore. On purpose.
- Earthquakes — wound the planet enough and it starts to shake, right where you've been digging.
- Rock fatigue — once awakened, the world keeps cracking on its own. Time becomes a resource.
And it all chains together: a drill heats a wall → ice melts → water reaches lava → freezes into stone → and seals off your only way out. Nobody scripted that chain. It just happens. Every run is different.
🛰️ Set up, extract, escape
Find a vein and deploy a small, temporary operation: solar panels (power is born at the surface), relays to push energy down, a Drill Rig that mines on its own, pipes feeding ore straight into your Escape Pod, and Support Beams to hold the ceiling. Launch batches to orbit — what's shipped can never be taken from you. Everything still on the ground is your standing bet.
Push the planet over the edge → siren → short timer → everything caving in → sprint to the pod. Make it out with four seconds to spare, and it feels earned.

I'm gonna be so deadass, you should probably look up what 'vore' is, and possibly reconsider the name of your game.
